Beginning this summer, the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute’s dance program will be operated privately, under the direction and ownership of Nancy Long who taught dance at MWPAI for 32 years.
The program, now called Utica Dance, will remain in the same location, continue the level of excellence established by the Institute and remain the area's premier
center for dance education.
The Institute’s Board of Trustees is confident in Nancy’s leadership. Under this new arrangement, she can implement creative and entrepreneurial approaches to the program’s operations.
Since 1982 after retiring from a performing career, Nancy devoted herself to training and nurturing hundreds of dancers. Her dedication has been reflected in the numerous presentations, including annual Spring Dance Concerts and December Nutcracker performances.
