Frederick, Thomas, and Maria Proctor agreed that arts and culture are the foundation of a great community.

Students (from left), Andy Mendez, Roxanna Pineda, Amy Gleitsmann, Mary Bonomo, Marlee Mitchell, Eliza Bell, Journey Gyi, and Annalyn McNamara, from Utica’s Thomas R. Proctor High School and Clinton Senior High School, work on the installation of their exhibition, Follow the Light, for the 2011 Exploring Museum Careers Program
The Museum of Art is now accepting applications for its popular Exploring Museum Careers High School Partnership Program. In this program, high school students will meet with museum staff throughout the school year to put together an exhibition of artworks from the museum’s collection. The students will learn firsthand about museum careers from professionals as they work with museum staff and other students in the program to organize an exhibition to be held in March 2012. Participation in this program requires involvement of at least one teacher from the student's school. A total of eight meetings will be held at the museum throughout the school year, usually on Tuesdays from 9 am to 1 p.m., with the first meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 12. For more information and an application, please call April Oswald at 797-0000 ext. 2144 or or email.
Applications are due September 26. Exploring Museum Careers High School Partnership Program 2011-2012 Application
