The exhibition was organized by students in the Exploring Museum Careers High School Partnership program and features objects created over three centuries; including an early 19th-century pocket watch that features the ancient Greek mythological figures Orpheus and Eurydice, and an abstract painting by Katherine Dreier whose subject is modern dance pioneer, Ted Shawn.

The students, Trevor Keith, Brianna Janes, and Chloe Pfendler from Rome Free Academy; and Tristan Bass-Krueger, Michael D’Aprix, Emily Motyka, Riley Spellman, and Elizabeth Williams from Clinton High School; worked together with Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute staff on all aspects of producing the exhibition, from selecting the objects to leading tours. After meeting with the museum curators and reviewing objects in the museum’s collection, the students selected objects for their exhibition. In subsequent meetings at the museum, students met and worked with other museum staff to learn about each person’s career background and role at the museum. The students completed regular assignments and participated in art research, publication design, marketing, exhibition layout and installation, arranging public programs and tours, and producing an audioguide of the exhibition.
