Paul D. Schweizer, Ph.D.
Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Art
Dr. Schweizer has been Director and Chief Curator of the Museum of Art since 1980. He is the author of Edward Moran (1829-1901): American Marine and Landscape Painter (1979);The Voyage of Life by Thomas Cole: Paintings, Drawings, and Prints (1984) with Ellwood C. Parry III and Dan A. Kushel; Life Lines: American Master Drawings, 1788-1962, from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute (1994) with Mary E. Murray. He also has written numerous scholarly articles on American and English art. Dr. Schweizer was the editor and a contributor to Masterworks of American Art from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute (1989).
Dr. Schweizer completed a two-year term as president of the board of directors of the Gallery Association of New York State in 2001, and has also served as a director of the Museum Association of New York. He is a member of the Association of Art Museum Directors; a member of the visiting committee of the Picker Art Gallery, Colgate University; a senior scholar/researcher for the Peale Painting Project; an advisor for the Columbus Museum's forthcoming exhibition, Lines of Discovery: Four Centuries of American Drawings; and, also, was president of the board of trustees of the Williamstown Art Conservation Center in Williamstown, MA.

Mary Murray
Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art
Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art since 1991, Ms. Murray has a master of arts degree in art history from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She has organized numerous exhibitions and writes extensively regarding art created after 1900. Included are American 20th-Century Watercolors at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute and Sculpture Space: Celebrating 20 Years. She is a member of the College Art Association and ArtTable, and is co-chair of the exhibition committee for the Kirkland Art Center in Clinton, N.Y.

Anna Tobin D'Ambrosio
Curator of Decorative Arts
Curator of Decorative Arts since 1989, Ms. D'Ambrosio holds a master's degree from Cooperstown Graduate Program. She has contributed to numerous publications including The Magazine Antiques and American Furniture, and lectures widely on 19th-century American decorative arts. Her most recent catalogs areJewels of Time: Watches from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute (2001) and Masterpieces of American Furniture from the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute (1999). The Victorian Society in America honored this book with the 2000 Ruth Emery Award.

April Oswald
Museum Education Director
Ms. Oswald did her post-graduate studies in art history at the University of Chicago, with a concentration in 17th-century French and Italian art. She received her bachelor's degree in literature from State University of New York at Purchase. She is a member of the National Art Education Association, the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums and the New York State Alliance for the Arts. She is a member of the board of directors of Sculpture Space in Utica, NY.
