His enthusiasm is contagious ... His credentials are world class ... His virtuosity is astounding. Pianist Jeffrey Siegel returns for another spectacular season of entertaining and informative Keyboard Conversations® - four full concerts with the stories behind the music's creation. These experiences begin with an insightful and entertaining prologue on the music and its composer, followed by a full performance of the works, and end with a lively question-and-answer session.

Superb music making...an achievement of a sort seldom heard.
- The New York Times
In the best of all possible worlds every concert would be like
one of Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations.

Celebrating Chopin!
(1810-1849)

Chopin and His Heroes
Bach and Mozart
Saturday, August 29, 2009
8 pm Museum of Art Auditorium
This program features Preludes of Chopin and Bach, Chopin's stupendous virtuosos Variations on the beloved melody La ci darem la mano from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni, and Chopin's cosmic Sonata No. 2, which includes the most famous Funeral March ever written!

Chopin the Storyteller
Saturday, November 7, 2009
8 pm Museum of Art Auditorium
Epic poems and short stories in tone. What may have inspired Chopin's musical narratives and how does a composer "tell" them without words? Program includes Ballades of Chopin and Novelettes of Robert Schumann.

Chopin the Patriot
Saturday, April 3, 2010
8 pm Museum of Art Auditorium
The Polonaise and the Mazurka - two nationalistic Polish dances - had special meaning for this proud Polish composer. This program includes three Polonaises: the tender G Minor of the eight-year-old genius, the brooding C Minor, and the popular, heroic A Flat, as well as several buoyant and poignant Mazurkas, perhaps Chopin's most personal works.

Chopin and the Future
Saturday, May 1, 2010
8 pm Museum of Art Auditorium
Chopin, one of the most popular composers of all time, is one of the most influential as well. This program includes works by Chopin that both delight the ear and point to the future - Etudes and Nocturnes - as well as music of Tchaikovsky, Debussy, Scriabin, and Szymanowksi.
