The Holiday classic, The Nutcracker be will brought to life by the School of Art dance program 7 p.m. Thursday, December 19 and Friday, December 20 and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, December 21 at Mohawk Valley Community College.

Guest Artist Nik Allen returns to weave the magic of this favorite story ballet as Drosselmeier, a beloved uncle to Clara. Drosselmeier presents Clara with an odd but enchanting Nutcracker Doll at the family’s Christmas Eve Party. When the party ends, Clara falls asleep in front of the Christmas tree with the wooden Nutcracker cradled in her arms. In her vivid dreams Clara witnesses a battle between the Mouse King and her life-size Nutcracker and his soldiers. The Nutcracker escorts her through a swirling winter wonderland to the Land of the Sweets where all the confections dance for her delight.
