Students explore various techniques of jewelrymaking and metal arts using precious and non-precious materials. Beginning, intermediate and advanced students can acquire skills of the craft in these classes that combine projects, demonstrations and independent guidance by instructors.
During the fall & spring semesters, a three-hour weekly lab is available to adult students currently enrolled in a jewelry course at no extra charge. This provides students with additional time to work independently on their projects. A minimum of 10 lab times will be provided throughout the semester.

This class will explore ways to incorporate unusual or unexpected materials into metal jewelry. Examples are plastic, resin, epoxy, aluminum, wood, paper, fabric, leather, etc. Students are invited to bring in materials and found objects they would like to incorporate into their jewelry and class sessions will focus on design possibilities to make it work. This is a great opportunity for metals students to learn about cold connection, to explore ways to put color into their metal jewelry and to come up with ways to make their jewelry highly personal by incorporating personal artifacts into their work.
