MWP Roaring title

They Shall Not Grow Old

Thursday, March 21, 2019, 2 pm and 7:30 pm
Location: Sinnott Family - Bank of Utica Auditorium

Directed by Peter Jackson, 2018, United States, Rated R, 99 min.

Peter Jackson directs this homage to the British troops of the First World War with never-before-seen-footage of soldiers as they faced the fear and uncertainty of frontline battle in Belgium. Digitally remastered using state-of-the-art technology and materials from the BBC and Imperial War Museum, the footage has been studied by lip reading experts whose transcripts were recorded and used as audio for the film. Overlayed by a narrative of those who partook in the war from interviews made in the 1960s and 1970s, life on the front is explored through the voices of the soldiers, who discuss their feelings about the conflict, the food they ate, the friends they made and their dreams of the future.
