A rare film that perfectly captures the awkwardness of adolescence, the poignant comedy Eighth Grade stars newcomer Elsie Fisher as 13-year-old Kayla, who endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school—the end of her thus far disastrous eighth grade year—before she begins high school. Co-starring Josh Hamilton. Written and directed by comedian Bo Burnham, making his feature debut.
