Artists in Residence Exhibition Azita Moradkhani and Ella Weber Exhibition

Azita Moradkani was born in Tehran and exposed to Persian art, culture, and Iranian politics. That exposure increased her sensitivity to the dynamics of vulnerability and violence that she explores in her artwork and studio practice. She holds a BFA from Tehran University of Art and an MA in Art Education and MFA in drawing, painting and sculpture from Boston’s School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University. Azita is the winner of the international 2017 Young Masters Art Prize.

Ella Weber hails from Omaha, NE and traverses print media, drawing, video and creative writing in her artworks, weaving day jobs and food into rich imagery and performance. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Nebraska– Lincoln and an Master of Fine Arts from the University of Kansas. Her artwork has been shown nationally and internationally and she has participated in numerous residencies around the United States.

The AIR program is designed for emerging artists and recent graduates in the visual arts to gain teaching experience within the School of Art’s non-credit program while developing their studio practice. Artists receive support for these endeavors by being provided with housing, studio space, meals, professional opportunities, and financial support. The community interacts with AIRs through classes and free programs such as lectures, open studios, and gallery exhibition. Learn more about the AIR program.

PrattMWP Gallery is located in Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Museum of Art at 310 Genesee Street, Utica, New York.

Tuesday. – Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday – 1 - 5 p.m.
