MWPAI is a multicultural arts center with three main divisions: Museum of Art, School of Art and Performing Arts. Together, the programs of the three divisions make MWPAI the chief provider of cultural resources in the region. The Museum of Art is renowned for its art collection and Phillip Johnson-designed building. The School of Art offers the nationally accredited PrattMWP foundation program in its affiliation with Pratt Institute and a community arts education program offering art classes and workshops. The Performing Arts division offers a wide-ranging, year-round programming of artistically excellent and diverse performing arts and cinema presentations, as well as extensive educational activities.
PrattMWP College of Art and Design is an NASAD accredited foundation college art program, created through an affiliation between Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute, Utica, NY, and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. Students do their first two foundation years of a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at here at our campus and then matriculate to the Brooklyn campus for completion. The campus houses approximately 170 students majoring in Fine Arts, Communications Design, Photography, and Art and Design Education. Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is located in the heart of New York State, foothills of the Adirondack Mountains and centrally located with easy travel to Cooperstown, Albany, Syracuse and a few hours from Boston, NYC, Lake Placid, and Montreal.
Accepting applications for full time or relief (scheduled as needed) Campus Safety Officer positions. NYS Guard license required. Previous experience and familiarity with security equipment preferred. $15.50 hourly for day shifts and $16.50 hourly for evening and night shifts. AAS degree in criminal justice, previous security or law enforcement experience preferred. Our Campus Safety Officers will model the values and culture of the organization to colleagues and the public by being welcoming, inclusive, and respectful and will value collaboration across the institution.
Must be available to work all shifts, especially nights, weekends and holidays. Our Campus Safety Officers respond in a professional and courteous manner to all interactions and to respond quickly with professional judgment during emergencies.
Campus Safety Officers perform campus patrol and dispatch responsibilities during each shift with inside and outside rounds of campus and buildings, alternating at dispatch desk. Must be able to react appropriately and quickly in emergency situations. Investigate accidents and incidents and submit timely reports. Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills required. Must be able to operate communications equipment such as two-way radio, CCTV and security alarms. Ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, faculty and visitors an integral part of position. Previous experience as radio dispatcher/telephone operator preferred.

Position Summary

The Director reports to the President and CEO and oversees all aspects of communications and marketing for Munson-Williams including its exhibitions, performances, classes, and events. The office oversees identity and brand, media relations, advertising, publications, Museum and exhibition information, general web content, electronic communications, social media on multiple platforms, and marketing analytics. The Director also interacts closely with the other directors on the executive team, helping them to achieve fundraising, attendance, and admissions goals.
As part of the senior leadership team, the Director works collaboratively with the Institute’s Administration and its divisional directors (Treasurer, Museum of Art, Performing Arts, School of Art, Development, Diversity and Engagement, and Facilities/Safety) to develop initiatives and achieve goals and objectives that align with Munson-Williams’ five-year strategic plan and campus master plan. The Director brings leadership and creativity to planning, setting priorities, program development, and fiscal management.

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications or marketing-related discipline;
● A strong track record of successful communications management at a museum, academic institution, or related not-for-profit institution;
● At least 7 to 10 years of proven experience in managing an integrated marketing and communications team and collaborating successfully with other organizational departments;

Gallery Guard (Full time and PT Relief)
Accepting applications for Gallery Guard (Full time and PT Relief) openings. Gallery Guards ensure the safety and security of Institute visitors, staff, faculty, students, art collection, and museum buildings by protecting against theft, vandalism, and fire. Gallery Guards respond to visitor/employee needs and inquiries in a professional and courteous manner and respond quickly with professional judgment in emergencies. Gallery Guards provide coverage days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for additional staffing or to fill in for absences. The School of Art at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is seeking fine art models. Modeling for the School of Art involves posing, nude or semi-nude*, for figure classes in both the Community Arts Education and PrattMWP college programs. Sessions typically run 3 hours and models will be expected to remain in the pose requested by the instructor for an extended period of time. Models may be scheduled for a variety of sessions according to their availability. The School of Art cannot guarantee a certain amount of hours per week, month, etc. Classes run Monday through Friday and sessions are broken into the following timeframes:
8:30 - 11:30, 9-12 noon, 12:30 - 3:30, 1-4 p.m. and 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Applicants must be punctual, professional, and reliable. All ages (must be over 18 years old) and body types are encouraged to apply. Prior modeling experience is
preferred, but not required. Pay rate is $13/hr.

Munson-Williams invites upper-level undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds and with a strong interest in careers in the museum field to apply to the J. Craig Heuss Munson-Williams Museum of Art Summer Diversity Internship. Depending upon the availability of projects, the Heuss interns may work in a variety of Museum departments, including administration, collections care, education, exhibitions, development, marketing, or a combination of areas contributing to a broader experience. The internship is open to, but not limited to, students from ethnic and cultural backgrounds that are underrepresented in museums and visual arts organizations, including individuals of African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, or Native American descent, and/or refugees. Munson-Williams does not place any restrictions on what constitutes diversity. Preference, however, will be given to those candidates who best identify how they will add to the diversity of Munson-Williams and the museum field generally.

Requirements
Undergraduate students interested in participating in the program must have completed at least one full year of college.
Summer 2022 internships are a minimum of six weeks and maximum of eight weeks in duration.
Interns work up to 37.5 hours per week (hours may be negotiable, depending on student availability and Munson-Williams need) and receive a stipend of $15 per hour. (Stipend does not include expenses or housing, but some travel funds will may be available.)

Residence Life Assistant Coordinator
Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute is seeking to fill the position of Residence Life Assistant Coordinator (RLAC). The RLAC is a 12-month, live-in position assigned to one of two residential areas that assist Student Life in the day-to-day administration of the residence hall(s). This position includes evening and weekend hours, as well as participation in the professional staff on-call rotation. The RLAC directly supervises the Resident Assistants assigned to the residence hall(s), oversees all housing operations, attends and leads meetings, upholds hall rules and regulations as outlined in the Student Handbook, responds/handles crisis management situations, performs departmental responsibilities, and assists with programming. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
BFA in Theater Production Arts and 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in sound, lighting and/or film projection with ability to coordinate multiple projects in several different venues or equivalent experience. Effective organizational and time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and follow through on all assignments with minimal direction. Excellent communication skills and professional interpersonal skills to interact with Munson-Williams staff and faculty, artists and production companies, third party planning persons and vendors. Critical thinking, consensus building, and problem-solving skills. Ability to gather information, sort, draft, and provide analysis for budgetary and purchasing projects.
Knowledge of basic audio and visual equipment set up and operation, including theatrical lighting and sound systems. Specialized knowledge of Digital Cinema Projection is also required (training is available).Basic video editing skills are required using software such as Final Cut, Photoshop, YouTube, etc. Computer skills that include ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and various software programs.
Lifting Requirements: Must possess the ability to exert up to 50 lbs of force during set-ups and tear-downs of audio visual equipment. Weights over 50 lbs should only be moved with assistance. Approximately 50 events (Performing Arts, Museum of Art, School of Art and 3rd party) each year involve physical demands such as heavy lifting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, etc. The Summer Arts Festival event involves the same physical demands for a 6 day outdoor event with approximately one week of set-up and tear-down activities.
